Mezőseed Kft. as a SAATEN-UNION company, performs field seed productions and provides seed processing services for the members of the company group and their related companies at its site in Lepsény. Our main owners are German companies, Nordsaat Holding GmbH and HYBRO Saatzucht GmbH & Co. KG, and the French S.U.R. Holding SAS.
Field seed production
Similar to the seed portfolio of Saaten-Union, the focus is on the production and processing of hybrid plants in field production and utilization of seed plant capacity. Among the seeds we process there are oil seed rape hybrids, hybrid cereals (hybrid barley, hybrid wheat, hybrid rye), hybrid sunflower, hybrid corn, as well as seeds of conventional cereals, peas, soybeans and catch crop seeds.
Innovation
Saaten-Union invests significant resources in the technological development of seed production of hybrid plants and occupies a market-leading position in Europe in the distribution and seed production of hybrid cereal seeds like hybrid wheat and hybrid barley.
Hybrid wheat
The hybrid wheat seed of Saaten-Union is a unique product on the hybrid seed market. The field seed production, processing and certification of the main part of the hybrid wheat seed distributed in the domestic market is also carried out by Mezőseed Kft. in a unique way in Hungary. The results of the developments are continuously integrated into the technologies used by the company group, which ensure continuous quality development and competitiveness.
